Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter Welcomes New Committee Co-Chair Chris Parks to Memory Rock

Author: Chris Parks

The Alzheimer's Association Illinois Chapter is proud to welcome Chris Parks as the new co-chair of the Memory Rock Committee. A 2015 graduate of Miami University in Ohio, Chris was first introduced to the Alzheimer’s Association by his close friend, Adam Loritz, who is also a committee co-chair member who encouraged him to get involved. Looking for an opportunity to give back to the community and join a charitable organization, Chris became a board member in 2017.

For Chris, the mission of the Alzheimer's Association hits close to home. His grandmother, Pat Connelly, is currently living with early-stage dementia in a senior care facility. Witnessing the daily challenges faced by those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia—especially those who lack the support of loved ones—has made Chris deeply passionate about this cause.

Motivated by both personal and professional connections, Chris is dedicated to involving more young professionals in the fight against Alzheimer’s. As co-chair of the Memory Rock Committee, he’s not only committed to raising essential funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research but also to creating meaningful opportunities for others to get involved.

In 2023, the Memory Rock Committee successfully raised $100,000 and set an ambitious goal of $115,000 for 2024. Chris is eager to engage with his network of colleagues and friends to expand the committee’s reach and impact. He believes that by bringing together professionals from all walks of life—whether like-minded or from diverse perspectives—more can be done to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s.

The 18th Annual Memory Rock event will take place at Tunnel, located at 151 W. Kinzie in Chicago, IL, on Thursday, October 10, 2024. The night promises to be an unforgettable experience, with an open bar, delicious bites, a silent auction, and live performances from two incredible bands, Superheat and Common Area Maintenance. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available at www.memoryrockChicago.com.

Join us for an evening of fun, music, and community as we come together to support a vital cause.
