This November, in honor of National Family Caregivers Month, the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter invites you to recognize the incredible caregivers who are dedicated to supporting those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia across our state. These selfless individuals provide essential care, compassion, and comfort to individuals facing the challenges of memory loss. To celebrate their extraordinary contributions, we’re launching nominations for two special awards: Family & Friend Caregiver and Professional Caregiver.
From friends and family members to healthcare professionals, caregivers bring strength, patience, and resilience to their roles, becoming a crucial support for loved ones and clients alike. Through the entire month of November, we are opening the floor for you to nominate a caregiver who has made a lasting impact in someone’s life. This is a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on their unwavering commitment and to thank them for their dedication to making a difference.
Selected award recipients will be announced in January 2025, with a heartfelt tribute planned at the upcoming Power of Purple: A Reason to Hope Luncheon. Hosted at the Fairmont Millennium Park in Chicago on Thursday, March 13, 2025, this inspiring event brings together caregivers, community leaders, and supporters in a shared commitment to a future free from Alzheimer’s. Attendees can look forward to a day of celebration and inspiration, honoring those who uplift and lead in the face of Alzheimer’s.
Do you know a caregiver who deserves recognition? Submit a nomination by November 30, 2024, and help us honor these heroes who make an extraordinary difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
