Lincolnshire, IL – Radford Green at Sedgebrook and the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter are pleased to announce the launch of a NEW Caregiver Support Group for those caring for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and all other forms of dementia. The group will hold its first meeting on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 4 PM, featuring a guest speaker, Dr. Jennifer Stelter.
The Caregiver Support Group will continue to meet on the third Thursday of every month at 4 PM at Radford Green at Sedgebrook, located at 960 Audubon Way, Lincolnshire, IL 60069. These meetings provide caregivers with a safe space to share experiences, gain emotional support, and learn valuable strategies for navigating the caregiving journey.
"Launching this support group is about more than just providing resources—it's about creating a safe space where caregivers of those with Alzheimer's and dementia can connect, share experiences, and find the strength to navigate their unique journey. We are here to offer vital information, practical support, and, most importantly, a community that truly understands and stands beside them every step of the way," said Laura McAndrew, the group’s facilitator.
Laura McAndrew serves as the main contact for the group and can be reached at lmcandrew@sedgebrook.net or by phone at 847-876-2410.
The ongoing group meetings are free and open to the public. For additional information, visit the website at www.WelcomeToSedgebrook.com or register by calling the Alzheimer’s Association helpline at 800-272-3900.
This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by Radford Green at Sedgebrook and the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter to provide support and education to caregivers in Lincolnshire and surrounding areas.
