Step Up with Illinois in the Fight Against Alzheimer’s Disease

Starting this September, Illinois residents will join the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Kicking off on September 7, the Illinois Chapter will host 23 Walks across the state, the final Walks will be held the weekend of October 5.

On Walk day, participants will come together for the impactful Promise Garden ceremony, a powerful tribute to those affected by Alzheimer’s. During this mission-driven experience, walkers carry brightly colored flowers, each symbolizing a different connection to the disease, underscoring our shared commitment to the fight against Alzheimer’s.

Today, nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, supported by over 11 million family members and friends. In Illinois alone, more than 266,500 people are battling the disease, with 314,000 caregivers standing by their side.

We need your strength to move Alzheimer's Disease!  We need additional help to load and unload our Walk Day supplies! Anyone who is physically able to help carry boxes, supplies, tents, signs, cases of water, etc.. If you can spare 90 minutes on any of the listed dates, it would be a huge help to our Staff Team!! For any students who need volunteer hours or employers who offer time to volunteer, this is a great opportunity! Click here to register: https://forms.gle/1hTh4jf21gk8GcKAA
